This is also the end of my second week of P90x and holy sh!t, my body feels like it has been through war…this is no exaggeration. Doing the Kenpo today, my legs were on  fire and my shoulders did not want to keep up; it was freaking crazy, but I would not change it for the world. I love this feeling, but I’m def happy for a rest day tomorrow!

Today’s Workout…

… was exhausting! I’ve been feeling really weird lately and have been wanting to just be outside for a while. So with the rain all day yesterday, this morning was nice and cool…perfect for a bike ride. I didn’t do my usual long ride, but I did ride for about an hour. It was so good, the smells from the rain and the cooling breeze were just what I needed to start my day.

So after a vigorous ride, I came home to do P90x abs and the shoulders & arms workouts.

I love this workout….I’m not sure why though. Man, my shoulders feel like jelly right now.

The combo of biking and P90x really left me exhausted but feeling great. I love this feeling. I don’t get why people don’t work out….it does wonder for my mind and body…the stuff you can and cannot see.

…happened at the butt-crack of dawn….it was day 9 of P90x = plyometrics.

Because I HAD to go to the supermarket super-early today, I woke my ass up at 6am to do this workout. I don’t know if it was too early or if I didn’t have enough in me (I ate 1 slice {45 cals} of 7-grain bread) but I could barely keep up. I was the boss at that workout last week…totally different story this week. Wow.

I must say though, I love the fact that my workout is done today! It all rainy outside, so please believe I’m going right back into my warm bed ….I’m unemployed….whaaaat?!

The title of this post really should be “I hate push-ups”…but, when I think about it, I would rather do all these friggin push-ups than do that YogaX workout again…ugh.

I was comparing my performance to last week aaaaaaaaaaaaand I’m disappointed. For most of the exercises, I did about the same number of reps if not less. BUT, my back and arms were still fatigued from last week’s workout and I think I move too slowly.

…wasP90x yoga. That was the worst 90 minutes of my life. Slightly dramatic I suppose but I just didn’t like it, which is so weird because I LOVE yoga. I don’t know if I didn’t like it because when I turned it on I saw that it was 1.5 hours or what. In addition to yoga-ing for waaaay too long, I got bored. I can hold the poses (except for like two) but Tony just took long in between poses and my mind wanders….wandering why the eff there is so much time remaining.

So that I wouldn’t turn off the DVD, I took like a 1,268,936 breaks:

  1. I paused to tweet that this ish is 1.5 hours long
  2. I paused to put on weight gloves because of my sweaty hands
  3. I paused to take off my socks and put on toe shoes (part entertainment and part sweaty feet…..don’t judge me!)
  4. I paused to check my phone
  5. I paused to check email
  6. I paused to have a teaspoon of peanut butter
  7. I paused to have another teaspoon of peanut butter
  8. I paused to check email again
  9. I paused to check on my TweetDeck

And of course all these pauses extended my friggin workout time. Anyhoot, for the next time, I now know what to expect so I can get my mind right beforehand.

…. was day 3 of P90x….shoulders and arms then abs.

I need freaking dumbbells. I was able to do most of the workout with my resistance band and the kettlebell but it wasn’t enough. I was distracted and a bit frustrated. I may have to browse Craigslist for el cheapo ones.

As a side note, my calves hurt like sh!t today and my abs still hurt from 2 days ago…I love it though.

…was day 2 of P90x = plyometrics = holy sh!t. Wow, that was an intense workout for real. That damn DVD had me jumping, hopping, leaping, and skipping all over my apartment; I really felt sorry for the folks below me…they will simply have to get used to it.

I really like the mini-sets; it breaks down the entire hour of working out so that it doesn’t seem too long. Need motivation: there is a guy in the DVD working out with a prosthetic leg, so of course they guilt motivate you by saying “this guy has ONE leg…if he can do it, so can do”. So there I am feeling like a major loser looking at this dude with one real leg killing this plyometrics routine and I’m huffing  like I’ve never exercised before. I bet that sh!t was intentional.

But, again, I feel AMAZING!
